The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouk has unveiled that around 12,000 N-Power recipients are yet to be paid their three-month allowances.
The Minister clarified the postponement was because of regulatory issues, including they are being settled.
She clarified that her service is working with the workplace of the Account General of the Federation to determine the installment issues.
Talking on Monday during the preparation by individuals from the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, the Minister stated:
“Most definitely, we have paid N-Power recipients that have been confirmed and suggested for installment. We have 500,000 N-Power volunteers.
“The individuals who are asserting that they have not been paid, we are investigating these issues with the Office of the Account General of the Federation.
“We have had issues around moving from the stage that we used to work to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) stage. In this way, these are the managerial issues that have blocked the installment of a portion of the volunteers.”
On the quantity of those owed, she stated: “There are around 12,000 of them dependent on our record and as I am talking with you, the perpetual secretary of the service is in the workplace of the bookkeeper general to sift through these issues and once we get the report, we will make it accessible to all.”
